Delta College Q-TV to broadcast four local documentaries during its May Fest pledge drive

Delta College’s Q-TV is pleased to announce the re-broadcasting of four award winning, locally produced documentaries during their May Fest pledge drive. This is the first time Q-TV is showing all of its latest local documentaries during one pledge drive.

Delta College to hold annual commencement ceremony on April 26

Delta College will hold its annual commencement ceremony on Friday, April 26 at 6 pm in the Pioneer Gymnasium on its main campus.
About 400 graduates are expected to participate in the event. Two exceptional graduates, Jeri Gravlin and Joshua Trader, will provide comments during the program.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) is coordinating a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. On Saturday, April 27, from 9am-3pm, bring your medications for disposal to Delta College Public Safety Office (N102) on the main campus. The service is free and anonymous.

Andrew Butts of Delta College was recently named the NJCAA National Baseball Player of the Week

Andrew Butts of Delta College was recently named the NJCAA National Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 1, 2013. Butts, a sophomore from Bay City, batted an astounding .760 (19 for 25) from the plate while scoring eleven runs and driving in nine. He also swiped six bags and compiled an .813 on base percentage.

Delta College 48th annual Employee Awards recognition

We have a passion for quality and want to publicly recognize individuals who have exceeded expectations and reached their highest goals. Delta College employees are all outstanding, but these few have reached the pinnacle of success this year. A banquet in their honor will take place on Friday, April 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Bay City.

The Science Olympiad region 4 tournament held at Delta College on March 23rd was a huge success. Science Olympiad is a national science education program, created to increase student interest in science and improve the quality of science education.

Delta Debates Political Forum Series presents The Gun Debate After Newtown
March 25, 2013

A panel discussion, “Protection Or Peril? The Gun Debate after Newtown,” will be held from 7-8:30 pm Tuesday, March 26, in the Delta College Lecture Theater. The event will feature a lawmaker, psychologist and sheriff, as well as activists on both sides of the issue, sharing their perspective on the following topics: The proposed federal assault weapons ban; mental health issues and video game violence as possible causes of gun violence; mandatory background checks; and armed guards at public schools.

Entrepreneurial competition coming to Delta College

The Michigan Small Business Development & Technology Center (MI-SBTDC) in partnership with MidMichigan Innovation Center (MMIC), Delta College, Blue Water Angels, and Northern Michigan Angels is pleased to announce their upcoming entrepreneurial competition – BOOST! Delta – coming to Delta College on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 4pm. BOOST! Delta is an entrepreneurial competition similar to ABC’s Shark Tank where up to 15 innovative entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to present their business concept to a panel of judges and an audience of experienced entrepreneurs and business support professionals.

Delta College earns place on national honor roll for community service

Delta College was named to the 2013 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. This designation is the highest honor a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement. This is the 5th consecutive year Delta College has been named to the honor roll.
