Delta College is eligible for the $1 Million Aspen Institute Prize Fund. The Aspen Institute's College Excellence Program is the nation’s signature recognition of excellence in more than 1,000 community colleges, which serves nearly half of all undergraduates in the U.S.

Every year Delta College recognizes people in the community who have put forth significant and sustained effort toward generating awareness of global issues and/or providing service globally. This year, we recognize people that have in the past, and continue to have a huge impact.

The Delta College Planetarium will premiere a brand new big screen, DIGITAL 360 show called Animalopolis on Saturday, April 21. In addition, for the first three weekends of the new show the Planetarium will be hosting “Animal Weekends” with local zoos and shelters, each bringing animals to show off on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The Women’s History Month Committee of Delta College announces Sister Marietta Fritz of Saginaw and Ellen Lane Wolfe of Midland as the recipients of this year’s Pioneer for Women Awards. Both women will be honored at The President’s Champions for Diversity & Inclusion Awards on April 11.

The Delta Debates Political Forum series is proud to announce its next panel discussion "Equality Denied, or Preservation of Traditional Values? Perspectives on Equal Benefits for Domestic Partnerships." The forum will take place from 7 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, April 3, in the Delta College Lecture Theater.

Delta College Public Broadcasting was the recipient of three Merit Awards for broadcasting excellence at the recent Michigan Association of Broadcasting meeting.

Delta College has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the fourth consecutive year. Delta is the only community college from Michigan on the list, and among 14 colleges and universities to be recognized this year.

Students and faculty from Delta College and Saginaw Valley State University have spent the past year working together to improve the water quality of the Saginaw Bay Watershed, the largest watershed in Michigan. At The National Center for Science and Civic Engagement Symposium and Capitol Hill Poster Session in Washington, DC Tuesday, March 13, their joint efforts were cited as a premier example for similar partnerships throughout the Great Lakes states and nationwide.

Delta College President's Speaker Series Presents Dr. Susan Pinker on the "Sexual Paradox: Gender Difference in Learning and the Workplace." This event will take place on Wednesday, March 28 from 10-11:30 am in the Delta College Lecture Theater, and it will be free and open to the public.

Brain Awareness is the global campaign to increase public understanding of the progress and benefits of brain research. Delta College will be celebrating the brain with a week's worth of activities, from March 12 through 15 on the College's main campus, with a special speaker and the screening of an extraordinary film.

Delta College’s Developmental Education Program has been awarded the John Champaign Memorial Award for Outstanding Developmental Education Program by the National Association of Developmental Education Association (NADE). The award, which recognizes excellence in a Developmental Education program, will be presented to Delta College at a conference later this month in Orlando, FL.
