Delta College, in collaboration with the Wildroot Food Collective, is offering the Urban Farming series geared toward the active backyard gardener, the chicken enthusiast, or for those who have never grown a vegetable but understand the value of cultivating awareness of good, clean local foods.

Sheriff Scott Stephenson received the Jill Gallihugh Outstanding Alumni Award from the Delta College Police Academy during its commencement ceremony held on Friday, December 19, 2014. Eighteen recruits graduated at the 95th Delta College Police Academy commencement.

Jeffrey Wenglikowski, a student at Delta College, has been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as a 2014 Coca-Cola® Leader of Promise Scholar.

Delta College Foundation will host a Possible Dream Fundraiser, “A Chocolate Affair,” on Thursday, November 20 at HORIZONS Conference Center in Saginaw. The event is the sole fundraiser for the College’s “Possible Dream” Program. Proceeds will provide educational and cultural experiences to hundreds of students, and help them reach their goal of attending college. Since 1991, Delta College's "Possible Dream" Program has helped 1,800 sixth through twelfth graders from the Tri-Counties stay active in their studies and pursue their dreams.

Donald J. Carlyon, who served as Delta College’s President from 1964 to 1992 and has remained active throughout the Great Lake Bay Region since his retirement, has received the College’s second Award of Distinction for his many years of service to Delta and the community. The presentation – which also recognized his 90th birthday on August 14 – was made at a special dinner on October 29 at the Temple Theatre in Saginaw.

The trustees of The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation recently awarded $4 million to Delta College to expand science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education of middle- and high-school students in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
