Delta College Foundation will host a Possible Dream Fundraiser, “A Chocolate Affair,” on Thursday, November 5 at the Great Hall & Convention Center (located at Valley Plaza Resort) in Midland. For the second consecutive year, the Chocolate Affair was rated the #1 Charity Event by the readers of TriCity Magazine.
The event is the sole fundraiser for the College’s Possible Dream Program. Proceeds will provide educational and cultural experiences to hundreds of students, and help them reach their goal of attending college. Since 1991, Delta College's Possible Dream Program has helped 1,500 sixth through twelfth graders from the Tri-Counties stay active in their studies and pursuing their dreams.
There are two ticket levels -- $65.00 for general admission tickets and $125.00 for VIP patron tickets. The VIP patron ticket holders arrive an hour early at 6 p.m. and enjoy premium menu selections, champagne, and a chance to win a piece of student artwork. The student artists are: Aron Gaertner, James Hughes, Christiana Guerrero, Andrew Darling, Melissa Lile, Jason Gagnon, Cary Ewing, Travis Toner, and Nick Novak.
“The event is well attended each year thanks to our community leaders who are selling tickets to their friends, colleagues, and neighbors,” said Mary Harding, the event coordinator. This year’s Honorary Chairs are: Kevin and Lynne Neumeyer, Bay County; Mark and Laura Freed, Midland County; and Kraig and Lynn Schutter, Saginaw County.
Sponsorship support has been provided by many businesses, including Chemical Bank, Citizens Bank, Dow Corning Corporation, and National City Bank part of PNC.
